World Records: Touching Base February 26 2018

Touching Bass is a movement of London-based soul disciples focused on music that makes you think and feel. With a bi-weekly show on the world renowned NTS Radio and a schedule that sees them playing regularly all across Europe the collective has a truly global reach. A crew that's been on our radar in the last few years we're excited to welcome and host two heavyweight selectors from the collective Alex Rita and Andwot on their debut Australian tour for the first World Records session of 2018. Alex Rita - Copenhagen-born, London-based selector, illustrator, singer and fashion designer — is a talented seamstress in more ways than one. Her passion for stitching together patchworks of percussive grooves and organic sounds comes through in her sets as listeners can be blessed with everything from spiritual jazz and soul to broken beat and warm house grooves in one sitting. Andwot - South London-based DJ, writer and Boiler Room host/programmer — has quickly found his groove. Despite only a short time behind the decks, the founder of Touching Bass and official member of Broken Beat collective Co-Op is building a reputation as a promising selector and authoritative figure in the underground music world. His sets come regularly peppered with soulful rhythms, unbounded by genre and picked with the sole purpose of making people dance and feel. Join us for memorable evening exploring the broader realms of soul based dance floor music free from the restrictions of specific genres, tempos or styles with a heavy dose of London meets Sydney energy.
