Now in its 5th year, Cake Wines is proud to announce the Top 30 Finalists in the Cake Wines Archi-bottle Prize 2018. This year’s prize received over 1300 entries from local and international artists, this is the most entries the prize has received to date. With the top 30 making up arguably some of the most important established and emerging artist in the country, the Archi-bottle Prize has returned to the global art scene in a big way in 2018.
Loosely referencing the tasting notes of Cake Wines’ soon to be released Adelaide Hills Barbera, the Top 30 Finalists showcase distinct elements that resonate stylistically with the wine itself...be it through colour, shape or overall subject matter. Cake Wines Winemaker Sarah Burvill reflects on the wine saying it’s, “light in colour, soft in term of tannins, and an overall lively style of wine, handpicked with a portion of the wine left in old oak to add a different dimension, the aim is to make a very different style of Barbera than what people know”.
This Friday the 13th of April the Top 30 will be exhibited in the Finalists' Exhibition where the winner will be revealed!
